Two short videos of Liam getting to know his new housemate…
By now many of you have met Liam – our (i..e Tina’s) service dog in training from Canine Companions for Independence – who attends our yoga classes on Tue, Thurs, & Fri mornings. Liam – now 14 months old – has been raised by Tina since he was just a few weeks. And Tina’s primary job has been to nurture and train Liam, and “broaden his horizons.” So Liam is constantly being introduced to new situations: schools, kids, boats, stores, restaurants etc. And verily Liam just received a ten-star review and was said to be “way ahead” of the game. The first week of November Liam shall depart for his graduate school training in NY. So he shall be in this area for another 3.5 months or so.
Liam’s most recent life broadening experience has been “welcoming” a new 8-week old kitten into his household. This first video is day 1 – when Liam and kitty first met.
As you can see below in this next video, they have since become a bit more fluid in their playing…kitty seems rather fearless and ready to take on all comers…and Liam is only all too happy to oblige…
In fact, Liam has become so enthralled with Luna and their play times together that he only begrudgingly came to yoga this morning as he was more keen to hang out at home with Luna!!

Now of course, Liam is an old pro in class. He remains perfectly calm on his towel during class (no leash etc needed) and then afterwards he does his meet and greet and playtime!! All in preparation for a life of service – that is his true calling (dharma).
