3-Pose Challenge: July 2015

3- Pose Challenge: July 2015

Practice any three poses of your choosing daily for the month of July and see how familiar and facile those poses become!!!

This challenge is grounded in simplicity. It is as easy as 1-2-3.

Practice: Choose three poses – any three poses – and practice them each day over the course of the month. Maybe you do them once a day, or perhaps morning and evening.

Pose Selection: You may choose any three poses you wish. For instance, you may choose one pose that is an ideal stretch for you like a hip-opener or a backbend. Then the next pose might be the antithesis of that pose. So if you selected a backbend for your first pose then you might do a forward bending pose for the second. And then you might close out with a relaxation pose like child’s pose, shavasana (corpse pose), or supine bound angle. This is just a sample of what you might put together. If you have any questions about your pose selection just let me know.

Benefits: By practicing daily, you get the opportunity to make the pose your own – and really soak up the benefits of that pose. You will gain a greater feel and affinity for the pose and it will feel more natural for you – as opposed to doing the pose on a weekly basis where you essentially have to reintroduce yourself to the pose each week.

So see – simple as 1-2-3…

Look forward to hearing about your 3-Pose Challenge!!!

  1. Satyam, I love this idea and will definitely do it as I know it will help. However, I need your assistance in choosing three poses that I will be able to do, and that will provide the most benefit. Remember, my back and hip challenges…anything that would even help strengthen these areas.

    1. How about for the first week or so do (1) cat and cow, (2) balancing table, (c) bound bridge pose…

      See how that goes –
